Footwear fashion – let yourself dream a little
Not many types of footwear are as flexible as the half boot. The all terrain vehicle of the footwear world, it suits virtually any environment. No single trend is dominant, so it’s your decision entirely to select exactly the design that attracts you. With the onset of winter, you can ferret out looks that embrace the season. Fake fur has a big part to play, whether at ankle level or wrapped right round the boot, American indian style. Tones are a fusion of the pretty classic for the season, like greys, navy blues, every possible shade of brown and stalwarts like beige, black and white, partnered with more striking colours – metallic red and gold, seasonal scarlet and two-tone or three-tone looks are some illustrations. These boots are a lot of fun to be around as shown by some very Christmassy ‘knitted’ style patterns and leopardskin effects.
Somewhat less practical for sleet and snow are your typical women’s shoes. Still, if they all look as amazing as this, who needs practical? These shoes can transform the shrinking violets amongst us with their self-assured colours, refined lines and novel designs. There’s no shortage of quirky details: chunky buckles, press stud ‘pockets’, rhinestone designs and more. One intriguing design aspect is the regular occurence of the animal skin effect. There’s a wild mix of zebra, leopard, crocodile and snake skin on offer.
As the party season is gearing up it’s just the right time to begin the quest for your party frock. There are lots of very flattering dresses around. Black is high up the fashion ladder this year, not so much in its classic guise of the little black dress, instead it’s taking on a new personality, combining with assorted shades and striking stripes and borders.
